RETURN TO SOUTHCREST SURGICENTER

What to Expect the Day of Your Procedure

When should I arrive?

Approximately one hour before your surgery unless otherwise notified by your physician or our clinical staff.

Where should I go?

Please check in at the front desk in the Surgicenter, Suite 160 in the SouthCrest Medical Plaza building, just to the east of SouthCrest Hospital.

What happens then?

Depending on the time your procedure is scheduled, you may be asked to wait in the lobby, or you may be taken to a patient area where a nurse will begin the process of preparing you for your procedure.

Will I be in a room or in a bed before I have the procedure done?

You may be assigned a bed or a comfortable chair in a curtained alcove. A friend or family member can also stay with you during this time up until the time of your procedure.

Where can my family or friend wait for me?

Your family or friends can wait in the lobby during your procedure.

Will my doctor talk to a family member?

We encourage physicians to talk to family members after a procedure. Most physicians will talk with the family.
